When meeting Twilight Sparkle[]
This Pairing is based on the Pegasi of the Mane Six. With Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, the two share the closest bond when they were fillies. Even if they are opposite to each other, they clicked well. When Twilight met Fluttershy, she was the most quiet and timid pony out of the Mane 5. She was scared and softly said her name, until she met Spike who is a baby dragon. When Twilight met Rainbow Dash, she appeared to be very laid back and Twilight underestimated her by clearing the clouds fast in ten seconds flat.
Season 1[]
Rainbow Dash assisted Fluttershy on the cliff as she was afraid of heights and forgot to jump. When she was confronting the dragon, Fluttershy angrily and assertively asks him why he was fighting other five. The dragon was upset as he said that Rainbow Dash kicked him and he cried. In the 'Winter Wrap Up' episode, Fluttershy showed concern for the animals as they are just about to wake up from hibernation and she was afraid that the snow will melt sooner, which may cause a flood. In 'The Sonic Rainboom' episode and 'The Cutie Mark Chronicles', it appears that Rainbow Dash was coaching Fluttershy in cheering for the Best Young Flyer competition.

From that day on they befriended each other as Rainbow Dash accepted the challenge for a race and created a Sonic Rainboom. Meanwhile, Rainbow Dash was rescuing Rarity from a wing malfunction as she was falling and with great speed. Rainbow Dash catches her and Fluttershy cheers loudly, which means Rainbow Dash could hear her from afar. Fluttershy found her calling to be with the animals of the land as she falls from the sky and saw the sonic Rainboom achieved by Rainbow Dash as they both received their cutie mark at the same time as she told her story to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. In the 'Party at One' episode, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy were seen flying together to avoid Pinkie Pie for her second party. They both made up a story about a bear named Harry who needs house-sitting in the big cave as Harry is 'Collecting seashells' and 'playing beach volleyball'. To make their story consistent, they both listened to each other and accidentally said 'collecting volleyball' and 'playing seashells'.
